During my tenure at InterVarsity Press, I was tasked with assisting the Director of the bookstore at the 2012 Urbana Convention. It’s the largest pop-up bookstore of it’s kind, comprised of over 1,000 titles, and set up in the day and a half before the conference attendees arrive. It was a mad dash to the finish but we pulled it off with time to spare!
In the six months leading up to the convention, it was my job to prepare the title list and quantities for the book order. In addition to my regular job duties in sales and marketing at the Press, I prepared a database of all 1,000 titles and ancillary products. Every title needed to be vetted, assigned a particular display location, and boxed accordingly.
